My truck was starting hard and seemed to be getting louder. I took it in and 8 injectors replaced. Attached is the write up by the tech. It does not mean a lot to me but my truck sure runs bettter.

if i get this right the injector part# starts in a 9 meaning they are just remanufactured injectors, not new ones

thats the most thourough (sp) write up I have seen in some time. If the tech that wrote that is as good a wrench as an author, you have no trouble.

His findings are typical, but I can assure you he didnt do many of them tests as he wrote. There is no allowed time to complete the return fuel diagnosis. He is covering himself for warranty...

They did say the cost to GM for the injectors was close to $3000 plus labor which brought it to nearly $4000. They also said the warranty was extended to 200,000 miles for the injectors but I'm not sure this is correct for a 2003.

so is this a problem with the 2003 models? And if so, when should i expect to start having problems?

That is what I was thinkin'! I bet he has that story memorized, or at least a big rubber stamp with the story on it!thats the most thourough (sp) write up I have seen in some time. If the tech that wrote that is as good a wrench as an author, you have no trouble.

Any case though, he knows the right song to sing. This tells me alot. That invoice alone would point some lesser techs in the right direction.

The truck was down for only two days and now runs great. No scratches. No interior full of dust. No 20 miles later and back at the shop.

He had the parts and fixed the truck quick. That is how they all should go down.

Is this true that the "replacement" injectors they are installing in our trucks are not new units, but remanufactured???

First, if you notice, all the part numbers listed practically start with a 9. That is typical of most of the parts on this engine. For some reason they are all catagorized starting with a 9. Similer to Allison part numbers mostly starting with a 2953xxxx. Just how it works.

As for reman vs new.. that arguement is still going..
I have my take on it, and others do to.

Who was it that had there work done at Suss Pontiac - GMC Aurora?

Bronco told me this place was really good what do you guys think? The most important question i have was out of all of you that have had work done there did any of you have mods done? If so did they give you a hard time? I have banks gauges and knob on my truck. I will take the computer out but the rest will stay. I need some engine work done.

There was a guy on here that printed the report the technician wrote up. It was very thourough. The techs on here lauged and said it was a bunch of phony balohny just to look good on paper. Never the less the technicain got the job done in 2 days and ther was no return/repeat problems.

I sent a private message to the individual here and and he replies stating that Suss GMC did the work.

It has been 4-6 months. Alot of people come and go. I can tell you he was from Aurora Colorado.

Guages are not illegal. However I would remove all power adders to be on the safe side.
