I just had my LMM leveled out with new torsion keys and Bilsteins all the way around. What a vast improvement over the factory shocks and cranking up the factory torshion bars. The $600.00 was money well spent.:grd:

That is something I am considering to do to my '06CC. I have heard thought that cranking the T bars may speed up the process of wearing out ball joints...??

Comments..??

bilstiens are a def addition I want to do though and wonder if just by adding those, the ride will smooth out.?

thanx,

Stk

i have questions on this as well, when i bought my LMM, i asked the dealer to level it out because it was sitting very low. so they cranked up the torsion bars, i told the service mngr not to go full travel. he said he understood what i was saying but just i few cranks,
no my question is now that the truck is level with just a stock torsion bar adjustment, do I need a cognito leveling kit or new keys, and what do the blisten shocks do so great?

sorry for the long post

Cognito UCA's fix all leveling issue's but CV angles. As long as you don't crank to high you will be fine for every day driving and mild off roading. For any guy that is looking to do alot of heavy 4wd you should upgrade to a full 4" drop cross member lift.

Bil5100's will help control your ride and with the right spec shock it will allow for the full travel when leveling you HD.

Nick,

How little can a Cognito 4" lift get? I have a standard height garage and a steep approach driveway, the max I could go would be 3".

Thanks,
Ed

Thanks for the info. I'm torn between the Leveling kit and a "low" 4" kit. 295's are my plan, had them on my last 3" lifted 1/2 ton and it was just my size...

I just got my bilstein 5100 installed the other day, noticed that one of the rear shck is leaking real bad from the boot, fluid stained all around it.

Sucks.

Hey Nick..too bad you're too far south for a day trip.. !! I'd even bring the beer.! But for a guy that mainly travels Mountain hwy (85%) and the rest in the city... I don't really see gravel let alone 4 X 4ing over and through the mud. All i want is to do is to bring up the front end a bit to level. Now I understand that cranking the T bars can do this..?? Is there a DIY on cranking the T bars (dumb question maybe, but until I see it done..I dont know $hite - right..??). I also want to add some bilsteins if (?), they are worth it to attempt to smoothen out my ride on said roads. That, I do not know

The plan is at some time in the very near future, to add a Buckstop or Alien Bumper to the front end... Deer protection. Need it where I travel.

Leveling your HD is very easy. Let me know and I can give you a simple run down to see where your at and what you need for your prefered tire set up.

There is a local shop in Upland, California where I live called DZ Motorsport. They put the leveling kit, which is just different torsion keys and the new Bilsteins all the way around. I paid around $600.00 for the kit and shocks installed, plus an alignment.

I got the ORU leveling kit with 5100's all the way around. the front shocks are great, but the rear is way too stiff! It rides like a dump truck and i can feel every little bump. Any recommendations? I really want to soften up the rear suspension.

Do you know what rear shocks you are running. From what I know I heard that ORU has there own shock now.

Mine are pretty stiff too, but when you throw 1000lbs of corn in the back, it's not as noticeable... :D

I love my Bilsteins.

Great improvement over stock, especially with the camper in tow.
