Charles,

You may want to do a search....or just look at the posts in this area. I'm not sure which performance box or tuner you are looking at. The edge has some features built in to help protect the tranny. Others do not have tranny protection built in. Most advice I've seen around here is 90hp and below is generally what a stock tranny is able to hold. Above that....start saving your money for tranny upgrades.

My experience...I ran LP injection for a year without trouble. Then put in a 110 hp tuner and immediately started "Limping" the tranny.....i.e. slips in 5th gear...down shifts and locks in 3rd. Spent the dough for the tranny upgrades and all is well.

So, the motto is: "You want to play....be prepared to pay".

Good Luck,

Wayne

Sorry, there is no cheap fix. I've see calims about special fluid, and cheap shift kits, but haven't seen any real reports of measureable gains yet. Keep the HP down till you can upgrade the transmission.
