Does anyone have a part number and a source where I can buy an oil pickup for a civilian 6.2? I've got a civilian oil pan and a military 6.2 - the oil pickup is too big to fit and none of the parts stores seems to carry what I need. I've got a new oil pump to install, but the pickup tube seems to be the holdup.

I've got over 20 6.2s laying around - so I'm sure I've got what you need - if you can't find it locally. Let me know - you can email me if you want at jdemaris@usadatanet.net

I tend to buy almost anything interesting when I find it cheap. I started doing it 40 years ago. I learned a long time ago, that stuff tends to cost a lot more when you have to have it, and buy in a hurry.

So yeah, maybe I am a packrat. - I've got over a hundred farm tractors, over 40 cars and trucks (most are diesel), 6 old boats, over 50 antique outboard motors, over 50 antique chain saws, four backhoes, three bulldozers, over 100 old tube radios, etc. etc. And my wife collects and uses antique kitchen and cooking equipment and books.

I don't have much in the MF category. Last year I sold my MF Workbull (loader/backhoe with Perkins engine) and I still have a MF TO-35 with the British diesel engine (not Perkins). My British Allis Chalmers ED-40 has the same engine. Also have a couple of Fergusons, and one Massey-Harris. I have a bunch of British IHs - mostly B-275s and B-414s, Case SCs, DCs, VAs, VACs, VAIs, VAC-14s, and one VAH. Deere 300, 1010, 1020, BO, and a 2520. A few ACS, a few Case yellow tractors - i.e. a 530 and a 580CK. A few oddballs e.g. Shaw R12s, Oliver Cletracs, and an Earthmaster. Also a lot of small stuff including steel-wheeled two-wheel tractors made in the 1930s and up - e.g. Sears Handiman, Standard Twins, Standard Monarchs, Walsh, Viking Twins, Cunninghams, etc.

I was a Deere mechanic for a long time in a farming area - so I used to get a lot of this stuff for next to nothing. Not so easy or cheap anymore.
