so take my truck to the dealer had a tranny leak and would not drive straight down the road
so this morning they call said the tranny leak would be covered but due to the extream angles that the leveling kit and braces put on the pitman and ideler arm that they would not cover it and said that the braces help caused this too they then proceded to fix them for a bill of 1000.00 i told them that was not the case the braces are to prevent them from going bad oh yeah the truck has 30,000miles on it they been on since about 10,000miles and everything has been fine tell about a week ago when the roads have been bad and i started to drive it in 4wd they told me if they issued this to gm they would not cover them and i was at fault and it was not so much the leveling kit its the braces they think caused this so thats why its not warentyed.
so i guess my question is do i have any ground to stand on to get gm to cover this?

If they thought the issue was not covered under warranty, then they should have obtained permission to do any work first.

Personally I would find another dealer and ask them the same thing. I think it is the dealer that sometimes makes the difference if they will or not. One of my dmaxs had a leveling kit on it and they replaced a ton of the front end parts under warranty without even a word. Try a couple other dealers. Hope this helps

06Dmaxpwr is rite. It all depends on the dealer. The one I go to is cool with all my mods. Even with a lift I've had my idler and pitman arm replaced, had an aligment all under warranty. Try another dealer.

Exactly. At worst they will charge you an hour shop time for diagnostics.

Correct me if I am wrong, but when you sign the work order it says that they will contact you BEFORE doing any work if it will cause the price to increase more than 10%. If that is the case, then I would stick it to them for not getting your authorization.
