Hey guys. Have you guys ever had the clutch let go (start to slip) while pulling a load? I was running a Quad vers 1.23 on the 70 hp tune, pulling a 12000 lb trailer. I was going up a descent grade (not steep, I-81 in VA) when I heard this rattling noise. I thought great, there goes the flywheel again. Then I saw the rpms increase about 300 rpms all of a sudden. I hit the clutch and it went to the floor. I had to use my toe to pull the clutch pedal back up. I was running about 67 mph and the boost was around 22 psi. EGTs never reached even 1200F.

I made it to the top of the hill at about 45 and at the next rest area took the program out and went back to stock. It has been running fine ever since. It did set a code when the clutch slipped. The check engine light came on. The check engine light went off on its own after going back to stock. I haven't looked at the codes yet (been out of town). I knew the clutch was weak, but I thought the flywheel was weaker. My flywheel was replaced in August of this year (about 2 weeks before the latest version came out). So far this flywheel has about 10,000 miles on it with no problem. It sounds like I need to get a stronger clutch as a minimum.

any thoughts?

Thanks

Greg

I have driven an LLY that has a similar problem with the pedal not returning. He was running an EDGE at the time. I slipping mine once but I was running it hard with the Quad on 135. I would go to CPMac and get an actual clutch that will hold anything you can throw at it. He may be hard to reach but he has the goods.
