My PPE programmer was stolen about a year ago and I am just now thinking I need to figure something out. My truck is on the third stage of the PPE programmer for my LBZ truck. I have HPTuners and intend to use that, but will I be able to pull and save the current tune on my truck in my HPT files? Or is my PCM going to be locked with the PPE program on it?
I gotta do something about this. I need to change my tire size first and foremost and then hopefully tune the truck properly!

It wont be locked, but you won't have your stock tune....which pretty much sucks.
Not sure how HPtuners works, but in EFI you can take a stock tune and copy over the tables that are different. Maybe you can find someone with your stock OS version and merge the tables to build yourself back a stock tune in case you need to roll back to stock. Try grabbing the tune thats on there now and post the OS version on the HPtuners forum. I'm sure someone will help you out.

Yeah I was deinately going to pull the tune I have now because it gives the truck just the right amount of power, but I need to have the capability to go back to the stock tune!
