I'm looking at putting either a 4 or 5 inch turbo back exhaust on. I am pulling a 48 foot gooseneck cross country so I need something with very little cab drone. The truck is a cc/lb and i'm having trouble finding exhaust systems for it. I have been looking at the 5 inch Magnaflow and 4 inch Flowmaster. Anyone that has either system please give some feedback. Any help greatly appreciated because I need to make a decsion in the next couple days. Thanks in advance.

What year is your truck? The model year depends on how loud it will be with exhaust on it.
There's no difference in performance between the 4" vs the 5". Some say a 5" is overkill.
If you dont want any drone, I'd recomend a cat back system. But the year of your truck and any other mods will help us help you better.

5" is overkill unless you're producing 500 HP and have a big azz turbo. 4" will work fine, and if I'm not mistaken, the only thing that you may need for your longer wheelbase is an extension pipe someplace in the middle. as far as drone is concerned, as long as you have a good muff in place it should remain reasonably low.

The truck is a 07 classic and currently has Edge w/Attitude. Need to get some lower EGT's.

if you want lower egts, go with a turbo back. mbrp makes a great product, i'm sure a 4" system will work fine. i went 5" for the "holy sh*t, that exhaust is huge!" response.

I'd reccomend a cat back if you dont want any drone. If you find that you want it louder, just eliminate the cat.
Where are you located?
If you're in an area that does safety inspections yearly, not having a cat will cause you to fail it. (Just for your information.)

I was looking on the MBRP website but can't find a 4" turbo back for a crew cab long box.

Did you have any problems fitting the 5 inch in there? Are you still able to run the spare tire?

We also have an Exhaust that is as nice as MBRP. Its our Pro-Kit. We have it in 4" or 5" Non Polished Muffler No Tip or you can use our XL Kit with Non Polished Muffler with a Single Wall Clamp On Tip.

The MBRP kit comes with enough pipe to fit a CC/LB. As stated, Magnaflow also makes a few kits to fit your truck. They are both excellent quality and should not have any drone issues. If you want quiet, stick with a cat-back setup. If you want maximum EGT drop, a full system is what you need. Give us a call if you have any questions. We keep them both in stock, ready to ship.

i have been hearing that the MBRP 5" sounds like a "glass-packed gasser" and that the 5" Magnaflow is the way to go? any input? Any videos of both? ive got my 5" MBRP in the garage, not installed yet

The 5" MBRP sounds pretty p!ssed due to the muffler (or lack there of) design. The MBRP muffler utilizes a 6" case with a 5" core so theres very little room for packing material. The Magnaflow on the other hand has a 7" case with a reduced core (around 4"). This design does an excellent job of keeping the noise level down. They also claim that it has better performance than a straight through core on the dyno. If a customer wants LOUD, we sell them an MBRP 5" kit. If they want a more mellow tone, Magnaflow. Both kits are of the best quality on the market. MBRP at the time is only available in aluminized where all Magnaflow kits are stainless.
