Not sure this is the place for this info. Have a o2 2500 duramax. Have found corrosion on the oil drain plug and the oil pan threads. Think it may be some galvanic action going on with the copper washer they use on the oil plug. Am interested if anyone else has run into this.

Have been to service dept. since this post. Their explanation is that the drain plug hole is at an angle, so to drain all the oil there has been a hole drilled through the drain hole threads from the front edge of the hole to inside the pan. This in turn has led to carbon deposits being left on the drain plug in the area of the drilled hole.
