well ive read almost all the posts and decided that i really need gauges. what i want to do is get a A-pillar with 3 holes with a boost gauge and 2 pyro gauges. one for each manafold(sp). i like the looks of the 3 gauges better so i decided on this combo.
i already know where to mount them and where to drill the holes.
now my problem is what kind of gauges are good ones for not allot of $$? i am on a budget and dont want to spend a crazy amount on these gauges.
thanks for all info

I've had good luck with ISSPRO, but my guess is that most around here favor Autometer.

I have AutoMeter Z Series EGT and Boost. Not much you can say about gauges. I got the Z-Series because it sort of matched the stock Gauge cluster.

Outa the ones I have seen I think the black faced dipricols look closest to stock. I really like mine and the illimination rocks. For a non stock look I like the looks of autometers especially the lunar and the ultralight but thats just me.

I run autometer Phantom boost and pyro, the illumination is good, not great. But for the price you can't complain too much. I do like the illumination of some other gauges but they usually cost much more.

I had Isspro in my previous truck and have been running them for 3 years now in my DMax. I think they match the factory gauges pretty well in my 2001 and I've got no complaints on illumination, quality or durability.

I was looking at purchasing some gauges also. I was looking at Autometer's new Nexus series gauges. They have a selectable 7 color LED illumination. The thing that I like about them is that I can set up the egt gauge to light up red (or blue if red is my set color) at a certain set egt value that I choose to alert me when egt's are getting too hot. Here is a link for more info. http://hp.autometer.com/products/nexus/index.html

If you are on a budget, just go with the two gauge setup. . . Auto-meter Ultra-Lites. . .

why do you want to run one off both manifolds? what is the benefits? why not pre-turbo / post-turbo?
sorry so many questions, but i'm trying to learn...
thanks

You shouldnt need a pyro on both sides, just one and pre turbo. The two gauge set up that Dennis was referring to ( I think) is a pyro and a boost gauge. Thats the most common pair for diesels.
