: Hypertech PPIII+LB7= FUN!
Most would say that Hypertech's PPIII is on the milder side as far as tuners go, and that's why I bought it. Today, though, I got a pleasant surprise as I was headed back to the office from lunch. I'd been cutt off three times to this point by little Toyota Echo's, and a couple of de-badged four bangers. I'd had enough of it as I was headed to the highway, and a little ricer was ready to race...I blew smoke all over that little guy, and was laughing all the way to the highway:D. I LOVE my truck! I'm not an agressive driver by any means, and I don't abuse the vertical pedal, but for some reason, I'd just had enough of these little f@rts trying to cutt me off. ;) Just thought I'd share this with you guys in case you're running on Stage 3 with your HT PPIII.:rockit:
Madden 10-22-2007, 06:19 PM The hypertech produces enough power to kill most stock pickups without breaking a sweat. You can waste lots of cars as well. For anyone who does not want to buy an upgraded transmission, this is an excellent programmer.
Longhorn294 11-09-2007, 06:25 PM I agree. The HTPP III 3rd stage makes great power, but about the time it's just gittin' going......95 mph...dead.....great three seconds tho
01GMCd 11-30-2007, 12:51 AM So you guys would recommend this over a PPE basic 5 tune programmer? I'm wanting to get something in the VERY near future and I can't decide what to get. I'd like smoke but isn't a must. I want good power without the constent worryong about the tranny. I don't drive hard alot, but want it when I do.
haunruh 11-30-2007, 12:32 PM I also love my HPP3 on #3. Good power, especially towing my 10,000# 5er, and improved mpg. I've never overheated or limped the tranny and I live in BC Canada right near the mountains. Probably the best value for the dollar in programmers.

Well if you want smoke, your not gonna get it with hypertech, mainly a thin cloud here and there. But, if you want some decent power that is safe, its perfect. The 90hp tune is actually kinda strong and i never had one single problem with it on my truck.
mmangels22 11-30-2007, 03:58 PM i have to say that i am impressed with my programmer so far. i have it on the second level so far and i may put it to level three but i am unsure.
Red4x4Duramax 11-30-2007, 10:21 PM Oh yeah, the Hypertech makes a fun difference over stock. :D

the two LLY trucks my friends have are on Hypertech Level 3 , no probs at all after 2 years towing and playing, put yours on 3 and forget it! This was my first tuner and was great for the money , its not the fastest, but IMO its the safest and most versitile with no other upgrades.
DMAX_MXR 11-30-2007, 11:42 PM I've tried a hypertech from one of my buddies, it has some pep to it and I would say that its a little less then the PPE Xcelerator on 3 120hp. Overall I agree its great if you dont want to mess with your truck too much and want some more power.
LT3Diesel 12-01-2007, 12:39 AM I agree. The HTPP III 3rd stage makes great power, but about the time it's just gittin' going......95 mph...dead.....great three seconds tho
The Hypertech Max Energy allows you to adjust your max speed and it is internet updatable which is handy if any of the programming needs to be upgraded or is lost.
richardndonna 12-03-2007, 11:45 PM I also have the HYPERTEC and have tried all stages and prefer level 1. I get the best mileage and still have lots of power. Just went on a 10,000 mile trip around the U.S.of A and tried all stages during that mileage and like stage 1 the best, everyone has their own choices, mine is stage 1.
