: Blinker Fluid? .. lol
Rcher 10-22-2007, 02:40 PM I read in another forum about a guy who's side mirror got knocked off his truck and left an oil stain on the door? The dealer told him that the turn signal in the mirror uses some kind of oil to make it blink? I thought they were LED's. Blinker fluid? :wtf1:
dozerboy 10-22-2007, 02:42 PM No IIRC the oils for the heated mirrors.
Tom S. 10-22-2007, 02:50 PM I read in another forum about a guy who's side mirror got knocked off his truck and left an oil stain on the door? The dealer told him that the turn signal in the mirror uses some kind of oil to make it blink? I thought they were LED's. Blinker fluid? :wtf1:
Yup, they stock it right next to the hole stretchers and muffler valves.
Rcher 10-22-2007, 03:04 PM No IIRC the oils for the heated mirrors.
Now that I would believe. The dealer tells him he has to repaint his truck they have no solution to the oil stain. I would think bug and tar remover would be a good start. Maybe just plain 'ol gas.
Yup, they stock it right next to the hole stretchers and muffler valves.
Yeah Tom ... along with carburetor belts, muffler bearings and metric crescent wrenches.
HEAVYdutyDMAX 10-22-2007, 03:13 PM try wd-40 on the paint. That stuff works for everything.
quicksilvr 10-22-2007, 07:44 PM The fluid is from the auto darkening feature of the mirrior assuming he has the option. The stuff is nasty and will hurt the paint.
DmaxHawk 10-22-2007, 07:53 PM Yup, they stock it right next to the hole stretchers and muffler valves.
Don't for get Tim Allen's favorite...the Canooter Valve:D
NCMIC 10-22-2007, 08:33 PM no no. don't forget your muffler bearings causing some rattle in the exhaust.
sfcjones 10-22-2007, 08:37 PM :blahblah::funnypost
btw, there is no oil in mirror, heat is just like on rear window,
thejdman04 10-23-2007, 08:36 PM I got some blinker fluid for sale, its magical i could part w/it for 10 dollars an ounce
WHTDMAX06 10-23-2007, 08:44 PM no the heated mirrors are full of oil its for the heat it makes it more even.
Chad H 10-24-2007, 02:59 AM It is for the darkening feature. Same thing happened to dad's half ton. No it won't just rub off of the paint. You have to be sure to wash it off immediately. Dad didn't and it stained his molding badly but we were luckily able to get it off the paint with clay.
J Wood 10-24-2007, 08:10 AM The fluid is from the auto darkening feature of the mirrior assuming he has the option. The stuff is nasty and will hurt the paint.

There is bulletin from gm about that as well warning about the effects of the fluid on paint.

66chevy 10-25-2007, 11:12 AM Now that I would believe. The dealer tells him he has to repaint his truck they have no solution to the oil stain. I would think bug and tar remover would be a good start. Maybe just plain 'ol gas.

schulte 10-25-2007, 03:13 PM i just bought a new set of left handed screwdrivers
Are they metric or SAE? We have people bring in equipment to be serviced all the time; they want it done under warranty when it's pretty easy to see they've used an SAE adjustable wrench on metric fasteners .

Do you have a convertible? I've been looking for a roof rack for mine for years...
Oh well, my camshaft brakes have been on the way out for a while now, I just can't find replacements anywhere. I also think my air filter might be bad, I've seen signs that it's letting air through and into my engine. I dunno about you guys, but I've seen some pretty bad things happen when air gets into an engine... you can actually have EXPLOSIONS inside your engine, it can cause your pistons to recipricate up and down thousands of times per minute, especially if your spark plugs are leaking and letting sparks get into the cylinders.
BigRedHD 10-25-2007, 03:31 PM Where Can I Find A Gead Gasket For A Rotary Rx7?
Lol
schulte 10-25-2007, 04:37 PM Where Can I Find A Gead Gasket For A Rotary Rx7?

NAPA, same place they'll sell you radiator hoses for your '67 VW bug...
maxheadroom 10-25-2007, 04:54 PM Yea, Napa tried to sell me reflector batteries (wrong size) so I traded them for a box of toe nails and a board stretcher
maxheadroom 10-25-2007, 05:00 PM I wonder if this is the same dealership that tried to order a "710" cap? I sure am glad that I did like my stealer said and changed the air in my tires from summer air to winter air.

Did you make sure you didn't put the rights on the left and the lefts on the right? That can be especially bad if the teeth in your gears are getting dull, or if your torque converter is running low on torque.

NONO!! you can't go straight from summer to winter, you have to break them in with fall air, cmon man stay with the program:rolleyes:
maxheadroom 10-26-2007, 02:51 PM My Bad. It's all just so confusing. Just the other day my boss sent me out with a heafty 55 gallon trash bag and told me to get an exhaust sample from the service truck.
DmaxHawk 10-26-2007, 02:54 PM Hehe, its all good man, we all screw up sometimes. Luck you had dieselplace to help you out!
