When my truck is running it sounds like a belt is loose or something. I heard the same thing on a 2002 Dmax. Anyone else have this?

My belt seems to squeak when its cold, after 20sec. warm-up mine stops squeaking. (03) I had my belt replaced 3 times. Now I'm used to it. It doesn't squeak any other time but cold morning starts. You have an 05 I would take it to the dealer and tell them about it. They might get you in right away and replace it or put more tension on it.?? Good Luck with your New Truck :)

Mine does too on the 2005. Had the dealer order one for warranty. Some times it is louder than others.

My belt used to squeel quite a bit and the dealer replaced it. The next day it was just as bad. They replaced the pulleys next and the noise was gone. About a month later I was having issues with "rough idle" and GM got the Duramax Quality Manager involved. When he reviewed my case he noticed the previous complaint of belt squeel. He shipped a new power steering bracket to the dealer with instructions to replace because they had some that were mis-manufactured and caused the pulley bearings to fail. I had assumed my truck was fixed before this because the noise was gone but he assured me that without the repair it would return. Four months later and all is well.

YA! I noticed that this morning. I will watch for it tomorrow and let u know.

My '05 started the cold squeal at 800 miles. Dealer put a new belt on. Good until now at 3900 miles it will chirp when cold for about 20 seconds (only in cold temps).

Has anyone with an '05 had to replace the P/S bracket per the earlier TSB concerning the '04's to cure this problem??

Yeah, my belt squeeks also. It has done it since new and now it has ~1300 mi. I just was going to write it off as a sqeeky belt but now that I here this I might take it in and see if the dealer will do the Ps modification.
