: Waterleak
04Chevy2500HD 10-22-2007, 02:26 AM Well after 2 hard days of Oregon Rain I have water in my back seat. It is leaking from the lights on the Rear Entertainment system. Where does everyone think it is coming from? The Sunroof or the rear cab brake light?
Why do I always seem to get the vehicles that have water leaks? I have purchased 4 vehicles in the last 8 years and 3 of them have had water leaks. ARGH!
Mine is not a crewcab but I had a leak that was dripping on my back seat and we found that the back window was missing a section of adhesive from the factory.
The dealer took an air hose and sprayed air around the window until we found a spot that the air was getting through.
I originally thought it was the sunroof too, had them check it twice because it sure looked like it was coming from the headliner.
heymccall 10-22-2007, 05:36 PM The sunroof drain tubes have been known to be pinched during assy. I'd start there. Search user "ladyallidu" I think it was her's.

cow_boy_01 10-23-2007, 03:03 PM Ya pay $54,000 for a well equipped truck and we have to worry about this S*%T, WTF?

Ok, so out of the 65,000 members on this board, half a dozen have a leak. Yeah, it's a real serious problem.
Go pay $54,000 for any vehicle and I'll bet you still can find something wrong with it. Name a product - anything you want - that has never had a problem.
Here, let me give you some more stuff to worry about. I remember one person who had an engine failure. A couple more reported transmission problems. Some have mentioned heater and air conditioning. Man, this is getting scary!
If it really worries you that much, you should probably not own one.

Sounds bad to have problems like this, but when humans are involved this is just normal.
Its man made, mistakes will happen.....what i have seen at the dealer is the sunroof drains plug and leak inside the truck, or the rubber tube drains have come off for the sunroof, thats a common starting point for leaks on any machine with a sunroof.

When they fixed my sunroof drains they told me that the luggage rack leaked also, I had checked it and made sure everything was tight, but I have to believe what they said.
Newguy 10-28-2007, 10:24 PM Mine leaked in from the 3rd brake light... It's now siliconed up to keep it dry inside. there was water under the carpet, so I pulled out part of the padding to get the nasty wet dog smell out of the truck.
It was a bummer, but fixed now.
