hey guys i saw on here about the fix for the belt sqeek at shtdown that the dealer was putting on a clutch alternator or cluthed alternator. anyway has anyone had this done to there truck an it work? i went to the dealer and he had'nt a clue jus printed the TSB off an give it to me said there was'nt part# out yet. thank for any info :smoke2::saluteusa::chevy:

Your dealer is full l of it. The fix has been out for quite some time now. It is a clutched alternator and it does fix the problem. My 06 LBZ has had the fix and it worked. He just needs you VIN and it will identify the engines that need it.

i have 50,000 mls. this will still be under waranty rite.?

I think they upgraded the alternator to the new one sometime in 06 cause mine came with the new one already on it. No chirp at all If you have a black cover where the bolt and nut would be on the end of the alternator pulley then i think you have the new one.
