Has anyone posted pics of an install of a A pillar guages??
Looking to see what wires to tap into behind the light switch to get the pod lighting to dim??
I have my 2 guage pod painted and ready to go in. Just want to read up before getting started

Yeah you just pop the light switch out, its the small thin brown wire (and i think it has a white stripe) wire tap onto that and you're setup.

For some gauges this tapping wires will work for others you will have to install a dimmer. I tried the gauge dimmer but it was too dark for me, so I had to install a dimmer from Autometer, worked better. Also will give you the option to turn them completely off without having to install a separate switch to control power.

Brown wire, white stripe. This will dim your gauges to the same level as your dash, at least that is what it did for my Diprocol gauges.

I did the same thing...funny thing is, since I used through the gauge lit and around the gauge lit VDO gauges...they obviously are not the same level. I need to get more of the through lits...I like them better. I think I will also get some LED's

My factor dimmer doesn't seem to work well with the Boost (Mech.). It does decent for my Pyro (elect). Diffrent type of bulbs in each in mine.I'll be getting the dimmer soon.Mine is to bright at night sometimes..

Not wanting to take on the install job huh? :D
Its really not that tuff. The hardest part IMO is taping for the pyro and boost. Just let a shop do it and you do the rest!

I would call BS on you, but you got me. I work on my 71 camaro way to much and have run into, "hey dumbass, leave well enough alone" then I don't.... So nows the time to excersise that and leave it be until the newness of the truck leaves me to f$*k something up.

where is everyone tapping into for a 12+V source for their gauges? i got my gauges installed and all of the major wiring already ran yesterday, just have to make the electricall connections and im in business. wasnt all that hard to do, just time consuming to do it right and have it look nice.
I used a fuse tap in the fuse box on drivers interior under the pillar. You can pick them up at local parts stores. Some call them piggyback fuses.

This is how and where I tapped for the 12V.
