Which is better for performance. I was looking at the stylin concepts 5' stacks or the mbrp cool duals. Which is louder out of the two and which one out of the two would you all reccommend. Thanks for the info.:ro)

Around here the only guys with stacks 1) drive Dodges and 2) have converted some sort of household appliance into a lawn ornament. I think Cool Duals all the way.

Well you guys live in different ends of the country. They are very popular in the south. No offense taken, but they look great to me, and sound better than duals down low.

Post some pics when you get them on Hired Gun. Neighbor has 6" turnouts on his Doodge and they don't look too bad now. I've gotten used to them I think. Youv'e gotta have the right truck to have stacks and yours would look good I think.

If it's done right stacks can look pretty cool. I think the stylin' stacks have the goofy heat shield over them-:t . I personally like slash cut stacks that just come over the roof just about an inch or two. It's all personal opinion.

If i did stacks on my truck they would be straight cut..... with FLAPPERS on them.... so i could listen to that sweet tiing-a-ling at idle...... then have them flip forward under FULL FUEL!

Get that on Video!

Get that on Video! Rain caps do look sweet on dual exhaust. I remember seeing an old GMC Astro with a DD hauling steel in Pittsburgh just a screamin'.

Miter cuts are nice, but when it rains you have a mess. I will post pics when I get them done. Along with my pipe work. Thats a key to EGT flow as well.

what shoudl i excpect to pay for a set of stacks? Are they louder than lets say a str8 piped summit 5in'er? What are you using for the down pipe back?4in?

How about just run the demo durby style..str8 out the hood,lmao....

I paid $100 each for my 6 inchers plus the steel tube in the bed and the elbow and stuff for getting it up there. I don't know if it is louder than others, and its usually not legal to have exhaust in front of the cab.

I was wondering about under the truck, are they true duals are they Y-Piped inside the bed? I was wondering why I keep seeing themY-Piped instead of one pipefrom each exhaust manifold to each stack??????

Slick

There are no true duals on a single turbo diesel. The exhaust has to be plumbed to the turbo before it leaves the truck. The only way you could have true duals on a turbodiesel, would be to have parrallel turbos (one coming off each exhaust manifold).

Most of the stack setups I have seen are "Y"-piped in the bed.

what do yall think one stack on the passenger side with a flapper would look like? cool or stupid?

bigblackdmax

I have a buddy that has a dodge and had on tip out stack on the passengers side and when we put on the second it looks much better.Just my two cents.

Howling, I think that's the best setup of slant cuts I've seen. Just to the top of cab and always gotta have 6". Any smaller and it sometimes doesn't look right.
