Something has happened lately on my 2004 HD 2500. Sometimes the radio doesn't come on when I crank it to drive. After 10-30 minutes it may just come on on it's own while you're driving. I have noticed that when I crank it, if the door chime doesn't ring, the radio's not going to come on. If it rings, the radios fine. Has anybody ever ran into this?

The Door Chime is actually run from your radio circuit now. If you were to remove the fuse for the stereo on a buddies truck, you would notice that the chimer wont work either. Dont know whats happeneing, I would check your fuse to make sure its not corroded connection or unset.

I'm having similar issues with my 2003 with Bose. On occasion I will have no sound from the radio upon start up. I have no idea what the problem is. The funny thing about it is that I can hear the speakers make a thumping noise when I power the radio on and off while having the problem so I don't think the speakers are the problem. Is yours the Bose stereo system as well?

Mine has been doing that for last three years, happens 5 or 6 times a year. go to start pickup, no sound on the radio, radio looks like it's on, can switch radio statons etc. will never get any sound until I shut it off. open door then restart. and it will work again. ??? no idea why Jim
