I bought two nav units on Ebay that were listed as new. One was a remanufactured that didnt navigate and wasn't the version the seller advertised. I did convince him he really needed to refund my money after I called him at his place of employment, at a GM parts department.

The second one looked new but the right sound channel doesnt work and the thief lock is active. So be careful out there!!
Now while I try to get this other one sorted out with ebay/ Paypay I would like to fine a lux tuner/cd to use with the lux amp.

I contacted some junk yards and they have no idear what y91,y92 options are for radios, just ubo or ub6 etc. I guess I need part numbers for a lux radio head. Can anyone out there provide a number for a lux radio non nav for a 06 Sierra? Thanks Harry

the lock is normal when you put a radio from 1 trk to an other as is the speaker only working on 1 channel , you need a tech 2 to fix the lock and you must use the lux or non lux amp to the right radio, look in the diy forums there is a write up that will tell you everything to do ,read it 2-3 times just so you can fully understand it,if you have any questions just ask ,their are alot of people on here that have done swaps probuly 100-200,,

you also need a nav antenna to make these things work

Thanks for the reply, I guess I left out a few details. The first unit was a non lux which of course is plug and play not locked and if it worked I would have had machoman reprogram to lux and install the lux amp and re pin for lux. I have a gps antenna installed, the map would show current location just would not navigate. I have the manual so I don't think I missed anything.
What I want to do is find a lux head andinstall the lux amp which I already have, so atlast I have that part going if I every get a working Nav. As for the thief lock I was able to use the test method for the second, key in accessory pull and reinstall fuse. But would the thief lock in the " test mode" stop a speaker channel from working? All the speakers should work if you have the theft lock bypassed in the test mode.

I remember something like that as well in my research, my memory of this is if the amp has not been programmed it will only play out of one speaker. I just don't remember which! That's why I trying to find a know working lux head . At this point I'm not 100 % if the problem is with the radio or the amp. Harry

Well the latest on this is my amp is dead. Had a guy at the dealer reprogram my HU to lux and the right speaker still didn't work. So he ran a recalibration on the amp ( 044 H2 2003 one) and it died on the way home.
I guess I'm in the market for a new amp.:mad:

Yep, It was the infamous hummer amp. I knew about the reprogram issues, but it didn't work right as it was. So we give it a try, lasted about 10 minutes.
I think I'll end up buying a new amp and stay away from the Ebay used ones.
Where's the best buy on a new one and since I'm starting over which model?
