Ok ... all I have to figure out it how transfer the power from my engine to the tranny. I am still unclear on which clutch and flywheel to use for this swap.

Here are my present options:
- mid 80's 6.2 "J" flywheel, clutch and pressure plate

or

- 93' flywheel, clutch, pressure plater from a 1 ton 6.5 diesel

I have a 83' 6.2 with ATS Turbo that I am putting into my newly aquired 86' 1ton Crew Cab 4x4 (350 Carb'd). It has a 4spd tranny(SM465/NP205). No OD but I am running 3.73 gears with 285/17R16 tires so that should really help lower my highway RPM's.

Don't use the 6.5 clutch! They used a dual mass flywheel that had poor durability. In about 1998+- GM changed back to a single mass flywheel and clutch set up-guess what-same part # as original flywheel from early 6.2. The clutch was slightly different however. I have also used centerforce clutches with good results if you are going to be pulling alot.;)
