Finally had to order one, my drain plug is leaking... Found it for $27.39, no shipping, and no tax... :driver::deal:

Its worth it. I have a big drain pan, and I am able to put a plastic tube on the nipple and at the same time get the oil filter off, using only a filter wrench.

If you got the one with a nipple, you can attach a hose to it or just drain it straight into any container and then put a lid on the container. No mess.

Can't imagine not having a Fumoto.

much funnier if you had looked for the 5/8" wrench for 1/2 hour

I tell you what's funny......The word "metric" is written on the head of the drain plug. I had all ofmy metric sockets out and none were fitting the head correctly.

I then got my SAE sockets for the hell of it, and bam! It's a 5/8" head, but the threads are metric. I don't understand why the word "metric" is written on the drain plug head. Good gravy :D

the head also has a camera built in that sends the pictures of us scratching our heads trying to figure out what size it is:)

Something else regarding oil changes.....I exhausted every American cuss word while attempting to remove the dang factory installed oil filter, so I started to cuss in foreign languages.

I had to get my wife to drive me into town in order to get a vise grip chain strap wrench in order to get the filter off. The filter was crushed by the time I got it off :rippedhan

Your right, I think you"ll find a lot of us that had that problem from the factory.. The dealers seem to be just as bad, simple solution, DO YOUR OWN MAINTENANCE IF YOU CAN.. That way you KNOW IT'S DONE RIGHT!!!:driver::driver::driver:

I got a filter wrench for mine. No problemo. You can just pound a screwdriver through it hahaha( im not actually suggesting that)

You laugh about the screw driver, but I have had to do that once.. though not on this truck. Its a pain and its a mess, but sometimes the darn filters just dont come off.

That because they use the hand of god at dealerships to tighten anything they can. If they can opt out for an air tool they always will haha. and i have seen people pound screwdrivers through oil filters, and im sure oil doesnt taste that good.

If you are desperate the screwdriver does work really well. Very messy though. I had to do this once with a fuel filter on a Hitachi excavator except I needed a 18 inch bar to break it loose.

how do these valves hold up? has anybody had any issues driving through corn stalks or brush with the valve coming open?? that'd be my worry. i'd hate to be pulling a couple wagons and dumping oil out the pan at the same time....

There is a safety ring(hose clamp) that slides into the slot to stop the lever from moving.. Simple, but effective. :driver:

I installed mine last oil change. I may actually be looking forward to my next one.

Before it was

Remove drain plug burn hand and drop it in the oil container.

Go to grab a rag and in the mean time the oil decides the great force that makes it shoot out a foot past the drain hole has gone and now it just draining onto the driveway

find plug in the pan of oil and reinstall

Wipe off undercarrige from the oil spraying all over it.

take the pan put a funnel in the empty oil jug try to refill it with the used oil the funnel either tips or the whole damn jug does while pouring the used oil making a even bigger mess.

Now it should be

take empty jug
run hose off fumoto valve to the jug
open fumoto valve when jug gets full shut off the valve and grab another repeat into all oil is gone

IT WORKS!!! The key is, install it FIRST, then try to open it... Seems a little oil, makes all the difference. Hope this saves someone else my frustration....:driver:
