That's how my 2002 C3500 rides. I sold an '89 C3500 to buy this truck, and it didn't ride this hard. I wonder if any of you have experimented with different shocks, or am I going to have to take some leaves out of the rear springs?

There are a whole bunch of threads on shocks. The general consensus seems to be Bilsteins (about $260) or Rancho 9000 adjustable. I have the Bilsteins and I really noticed a big difference in the way the truck rides. My wife even noticed it. . . Do a search for "shock Bilstein" and you'll be reading for hours.

I would say Rancho's are your best bet for a truck that heavy... Good luck...

Rancho adjustables smooths out the ride. Also try to let some air out of the tires when not towing seems to help.

Rancho's work well for me.
Adjustability is great when I install the camper.

Ever consider air-bags? My 2500HD rides like a friggin' Cadilac... well at least like an Escalade.

My truck still has a somewhat stiff ride with the Bilsteins, but the rebound is gone, thus giving a better ride. Also, it doesn't have near the roll that it did with the factory shocks. Mine is a 2500HD, so I am not sure how this will relate to your 3500. It doesn't ride like my car, but for a big heavy 3/4 truck, I think it rides great.
How much air are you carrying in the tires? Some folks air up to the max pressure shown on the side wall. This make for a rough riding truck and is not necessary if the truck is not at gross weight.

I run close to max pressure, about 70 in the rear. I also have air bags and Bilsteins. There are times when the ride seems stiff, but it rides for the most part, very nice. My air bags have about 7# in them. I am extremely happy with the way they ride.
