Is anyone interested in trading their power folding mirrors for a set of power extending mirrors? Driving in the city is too much of a PITA with the big mirrors. Yours must be black. PM me if interested.

You have to remove the door panels to get to the plugs. Then you have to get the computer re-flashed to work with the new set-up. Not a 10 minute swap but not too bad either.

not sure how i could switch them out as i need my trruck everyday if you could send yours to me where i could get them switched out on a saturday and then ship you mine that would be the only way i could trade i think. I have a dealer that is open till noon on saturday. I could set up the appointment and shipping so both of us aren't inconveinced to much.

You will not have to get the reflash. The other truck will have to get the reflash though. I did the same thing and the power folding mirrors work just fine with one slight change. In order to fold the mirrors you have to hold the retract button down until the are all the way retracted. Same thing for folding them back out (hold the button down). If you choose to get the reflash it will allow for a one press fold and unfold like designed from the factory. If you can live without the one press convenience you will save some bucks and confusion at the dealership. I have probably folded my mirrors twice in the past year.

On the other hand the truck that originally had the power folding mirrors will not be able to control the exension/retraction of the trailer tow mirrors. When the button is pressed they will extend out continuously until the program stops . The same thing happens for retraction. In order to get the monentary action and adjustability of the tow mirrors the module will have to be reflashed with the proper programing.

Hope it helps. BTW you will love the standard DL3 mirrors over the tow mirrors!

Won't you need the flash for the curb assist function?

Thank you MaxP, I forgot that feature. If this feautre is important to you the reflash will need to be performed. It was never a concern for me since I have it turned off in my wife's yukon in the driver 2 profile because I do not like it.

I like to see what's behind me and not what's on the ground!
