For those that have put this kit on, how tight was the pressure valve to remove from the rail? I had an 18mm 12 pt. box end wrench on it and aborted mission. Too tight. I'm on my way now to get a line wrench and try again.

Take a 18 mm 6 point boxed in wrech it fits alot better. U have to have some guns. They are in there pretty tight. all the ones i ever did i used a cheater wrench on.

Tim, no codes. Just experimenting right now. In fact, never have coded yet with the PPE. I've run as high as level 5, but pretty much live on level 4.

Some are tighter than others. Mine refused to come out until one last attempt. Brayden had 6 pt wrench and a cheater wrench on it, it would not come out. He then tried to do the same but with a 2x4 across the motor and pushing on the wrench, no luck. I tried with a 3/8 breaker bar and wrench on the end., bent the breaker! Brayden finally got it with wrench, with cheater, and long 2x4 with 8 lb sledge!! I think I was worst case though!!

I'll have to snap a picture of that tool and see if Snap-On will start carrying it :D

Notch an 8ft 2x4 on one end for the wrench and have somebody hold the wrench square to the rail fitting. Then have a buddy whack the other end. It only takes one sharp smack to get it to break free.

Works wonderful. I labeled my board FPRV Taker Outer Tool and slid it under the tool box.. Just barely fits :D

I used the spreader jaws on a 10 ton porta power and an 18mm 6pt socket that I machined down flat for a better bite. I used the spreader jaws to push between the turbo heat shield and and the end of a 3/8 ratchet. I also hat to put the largest flat head I had between the ratchet head and the cylinder head to keep the socket from twisting off. Oh did I mention that I have the glow plug controller bracket not pictured in the directions. That took an extra hour.

Not a single 1093 after the install so it was worth the bloody knuckles.

Good to know, i'll be following along. As long as my filters fresh i rarely get a low PSI code. ----------As for loosining the fitting, What about trying to tighten the fitting just a bit, then loosining it? This works for me some times on old fitting or pipe at work.

I have done quite a few of these and can get my 3/8 gun in there with a wobble shallow socket on it they come right off. I have yet to find a easy way around the glow plug controler.

I just take the glow plug controller out, it only takes like 5 mins. I have one LLY that I broke 3 wobly sockets in the 3/8" gun trying to get it out. SOB is tight!!! I will have to try the 2x4 trick, thanks Brayden.

I did mine a few months back. Getting the glow plug module bracket is a whole different beast. Finally got pissed and broke the sucker off. Just zip tied it out of the way for now. For the FPRV, I bought a new 18mm 6pt end wrench. It was on pretty tight. Finally manned up, put some gloves on and pulled like hell. Couldn't find a cheater to fit right, but I finally got it with just the wrench. Just like women these days, some are just tighter than others. :D:D:D:D:D
