Hey guys,
Any idea of the wattage of the block heater. I was thinking of putting it on a timer to save $ on electricity but need to know how big a timer to use.
Thanks in advance.

I think they are only about 1000W.
I just use a cheapo timer that's plugged in the garage.
Works fine.
If you're so inclined, you can buy the expensive outdoor version. But I wouldn't unless your going to leave it outside.
Anything rated for 15 Amps will be fine.

1000w rings a bell in my head also, i have run it on outside timer and a regular indoor house light timer, no problems with either

If used frequently the shorter the extension cord the better, want to keep the voltage up.I have lost ONE block heater cord so far.

Mine pulls 7.5 amps on 115 volts = 863 watts Later! Frank

Put mine on a timer too. Purchased it at WalMart. Set it to turn on the heater for about 4 hours before I head off to work.
