Where is everybody putting egt probes? I have seen a lot of varyance in temps so I am curious if I can't read gauges or my truck is hotter than most.

Egt in the left manifold next to the steering shaft the only flat spot on the manifold below the upper bolt not covered by heatshield. 1250 max so far.):h

Right hand side manifold, I can easily get over 1300 degrees here at 6100 feet elevation...although with winter fuel it is a bit harder.

Probe on each manifold in the locations mentioned above. 2000 degrees plus some. :o

One in each manifold, basically in mirror positions of each other. 1600+ on SPA thin, fast reacting probe, and 1400+ on Edge fat, slower reacting probe. Only have hot juice/attitude, due to tranny concerns.

Right bank manifold - 1200°F max seen to date.

Sound right. The edge monitor is definatly slow on the high side side, about 200 off as HoustonDMax says. I have my edge in the right bank and a ultralite in the left.

If you replace the Edge probe with a bit quicker one (I got the stupid fast probe from JK) it reads extremely fast. I can get it to go from 400 degrees to 2000 plus in a matter of seconds.

I have the same type of probe for my SPA and it pegs the gauge out at 1792 degrees. I figured for sure the SPA gauge would go higher than that but it does not.

I followed the "HOOT" destruction. ps manifold in the back top. Duno what my max EGT's are, the numbers stop at 1600*.

Your SPA reads higher than mine! Mine tops out at 1784°f...

Looks like my memory is not as good as it used to be, I missed it by one degree... ;)

Yup, 80 pounds it is. Now the resident experts on this board have to figure out how I got it there. Gotta keep a few secrets after all..... ):h

(and no, it was NOT photoshopped)

Relocated or some "custom" adjusting near the firewall?

Man! That is a monster Turbo!

What's the weak link on the DMax? Head Bolts or Valve train?
