Retail Price: $349.95
Pure Power! EHP® Lifetime Diesel Filter

OK.....

Lets see filters are 8.00, divide 350 by 8 and its not making any sense to me.......

And there is no way you can filter to 1 mic and then clean it.

I've never even heard of anything like that and don't think I would use one either.

I think those are probably good filters. We have a few stainless mesh filters in the lab that are rated for much smaller particle retention than that and they work great. Now whether or not it is worth the 350 bucks, that is debatable.

Cleanable fiters have been aroung awhile. Whats the guarantee they are easily cleanable and none of the screen gets pluged up. I remember when toilet paper filters were the fad, now paper towel fuel filters are in. Me, I'll stiock with good old throw aways.

There is no way that the average person could clean a filter. There are particles in the air we breath and the water we drink bigger that 10 micron. Later! Frank

I have been using System 1 on my race car for years. They are cleanable and reusable. Are they practical for a daily driver.....I doubt it. The effort to clean them is not worth it for the application. For a race environment they are EXCELLENT especially when you drop a filter after every pass.

Don't expect a full flow filter to clean the oil. They can't do it because they would be too restrictive to flow the gpm required. The best approach is to continue to use the stock type full flow filter in conjunction with a bypass flow filter. The full flow filters the big stuff and hopefully catches most of the larger particles, and the bypass filter slowly filters the oil but to a much lower micron rating. The Harvard filters I use will filter to 1 micron, which is below the size that is able to cause abrasion. Plus, it will remove oxidized particles and acids and antifreeze. Using a bypass flow in conjunction with oil analysis is an excellent preventive maintenance program. It can let you know far in advance of a component failure by measuring metal levels.
