Hi all, Question, Been 2 weeks since I started my 05 lly no mods bone stock. full tank of fuel. ice on windshield this morning. Truck started right up, ran for 15 secs died and would not start again after maybe 10 secs of cranking I gave up and came to work in the old gasser. Could it be too cold for non winter fuel? Gelled up in filter? Never failed to start before.

Probably gelled fuel. Whats your outside temperture?

start using Stanadyne in your tanks when you fill up, it will prevent the gelling and it's approved by GM.

I had a similar problem not long ago. The WIF sensr at the bottom of the fuel filter was cracked and letting small amounts of air in.

It was 31 degrees this morning, I live out in the hills in northern NM, temp is usually 10 or so degrees colder than in town. I'll try again when I get back home. Thanks for info, sure hope thats all it is. Looks like weekend road trip up to deer area to get rid of old fuel.:)

Is it also possible that you have some moisture/water in your fuel that is giving you fuel line freeze-up?

Diesel fuel is not gelling at 31 degrees.....I suspect you have some air in the fuel lines. Try to prime and see if the priming pump will firm up, which would be an indication of air in the system. Fuel filter assy is a good place to start looking for air leaks. Also, if you have lift pumps or some sort of secondary filtration or an aux fuel tank check all hose connections.
