I have a chance to buy a 2001 extended cab Chevy - 4WD D/A with 170K miles.
It is in good shape with normal wear for a 6 year old truck. What things should I be looking for that may be an issue with a trucjk with this many miles?

What price range should this truck be in?

Thanks

injector and head gasket issues. injectors are under warrenty for 7yr/200k, so you only have one year left on that before you have to foot the 3,500 dollar bill for replacement. pump rub on the transfercase is also a common occurance. I am not trying to scare you away from it but just some food for thought.... price wise I dont really have a clue maybe around 16?

It could be outta of injector warranty depending on when it was originally purchased.

I'm pretty sure you will have pump rub. Seems to very common with the '01-'07 . I picked up an '03 for 19k.

Yeah, definately check the coolant. If it's nasty, hg's could be a future problem. As far as value, I sold an 01 LT x-cab with a new top end(hg's), injectors, a fairly new trans, and was set up for a Western Unimount for $15k. That was with 5" exhaust, cold air, etc... 196k when I sold it.
