I am the proud owner of a 1996 Chevy 2500 6.5L TD. I also Drive a VW Jetta. The Best repair manual for the Jetta is the Bentley. What are the best books for my Chevy truck? I have owned the truck for 3 days and I am now a diesel adict. (I was before, I just didn't know how bad i was addicted until I had my own)
I bought my truck to pull a 31' Airstream trailer.
Thanks for the replies!

IMO www.helminc.com is the best it is the same GM manual dealers use; pricey from Helm direct, I paid $150 for my set, can be found on ebay for less, what yr Jetta I have an 01 TDI Bug, I don't like Bently's layout; it has all the info, but sometimes have to dig for it, it is set up for someone who has been to school on that manual, the Helm for the GM is much easier to use than Bently's

I have a 1995 VW Jetta GLX VR6 with some mods. I hope to get the same gas milage with my truck as I did with the car!

I have the Bentley manual for my Mini Cooper 'S,' and without a doubt, the Helm, Inc. manuals are way better for the truck than the Bentley is for the Mini.

I subscribed to ALLDATA DIY for $25 you get the same service for your truck that the dealer gets. It's great has step by step procdures part numbers , flat rates, dealer list price on parts, you can add additional vehicals for $15 all update on the net.:)

That is like saying I have a VW rabbit with a 1.6 liter, and a Chevy Suburban with a 454, and I expect to get the same gas milage.
