Any suggestions for a Turbo Timer? I've seen a couple, but don't know which ones work well. I'd like one that would control to a set EGT rather than a set time to idle.

I've got the Diesel Turbo Lifesaver marketed by Baker Auto Accessories. I really like the unit, and it was relatively easy to install. However, it is a timer unit. To me, the timer units are more versatile, but that's just my opinion. I use mine a lot in cold weather to keep the truck warm, but if I get busy, I know that my truck won't sit and idle for hours. An EGT based system can't do this.

Did you use an aftermarket timer, too, or were you able to do it just with the alarm?

I use the same unit as cyote kid and like being able to leave my truck running for any lenght of time with it runnning and no keys in the ign, keys back in and hit the brake and away I go. I will say though for some reason you need to wait a few seconds after you press the brake before you put it in gear or it sends the trans into a quasi limp mode for a few seconds??? Its wierd and took me for ever to figure out.
