I'll try this again......

Will cranking the t-bars cause your dip-stick reading to be low? Once the front is raised up a few inches, the engine is no longer at the "factory" level.

I changed oil about 15,000 miles (bought the truck with 15,000 miles on it) drove it for a week the cranked the bars to level it out. At 17000 miles I noticed the oil was 1/2 to 3/4 gallons low. Either I have a bad reading or a oil consumption problem.

Anybody else seen this??

i wouldnt think so i have checked mine in the garage (level) & in the drive way on a slope & there was no change. if you raised the front end up say 3".. drive the back tires up on some wood or something that is 3" & compair that should get you back to factory level.:)

I say yes indeed it will. My garage has a slight upwards pitch to it which I guess levels the truck a little. When doing oil change I warm the truck, drop oil and filter and refill. With that brand new 10 quarts in it I read over the F line. Conversely if I'm out on the road towing or something on more level ground it goes underneath F. I think I use a little oil, under a quart in 7500 miles and that is with about 1500 of those miles towing.
