:( I just bought this 89 c2500 2x4. First of all, I got shafted. Ok here is my problem. I have a good mechanical background on gas and some on diesel. My truck overheats up almost to the max on the temp gage when driving. Now when its sitting, it does fine. The only smoke that comes out the exaust is when I get into the pedal (which is white smoke, but no water). I changed the t-stat and flushed the rad. Even changed the fuel and air filter. Can someone please help me out here? Im hoping its not the head gasket, im on a tight budget. Also, is there a bleeder screw for this motor, or do I just need to bleed it out from the heater core hose and if so, which one? Thanks Again for all the help!:)

make sure the bottom rad. hose has the wire spiral in it to keep it from collapsing . make sure it is really getting hot. try a aftermarket mechanical gauge to see if gauge is lying. make sure fan clutch doesn't have goo stuck to the front of it that would be the silicon leaking out get a new one. maybe wrong inj pump timing. replace the water pump maybe impeller is sliping on shaft or plugged.
