For whatever reason, yesterday for the first time I pulled my gear shift lever down through all the gears. The lever pulls smoothly down into 3rd, it becomes very difficult to pull it down into 2nd and pulling it down into 1st feels like the cable is about to snap. It will not pull completely down into 1st and it immediately pops back up into 2nd when you let go of the lever. Anyone else experience this? Does it sound cable related or shift arm on the tranny related? Thanks!

Probably packed with ice or mud underneath. Crawl under and have a look.

look down under the truck at the cable, the boot on it tends to pack with crap and that crap wont compress..

Cable boot is clean and clear. All the mounts are fine. Truck has never been in an accident...less than 3 months old and 4,000 miles.
