I'm ready for another set of tires and I want more than a all Terrain. I was looking for feedback on Wear & Traction. Seeing its a Mud Tire I wasn't sure if it wears out fast or not. I can get a set of 4 in 265 or 285 for $599. What do ya guys think?

I had some on a half ton and i liked them alot. Tons of traction but they are pretty loud. I really like my xat's also. I dont think you could go wrong with the mt's, especially at that price.

Thanks for the reply, how did they wear on your half ton? I really would like a set of XAT's but they don't offer them in the size I want.

Had a set on a 1/2 ton Dodge 4x4. 33-12.50-17's D load range.
Truck was basically a commuter vehicle, running 70-80 mi/day on mountain roads (very twisty roads at hiway speeds kills tires pretty quick compared to straight roads).
With proper rotation (alignment good too), I got almost 40k mi out of them and that was down past the wear bars on the tread before I got new tires.
This was only a 1/2 ton too, so not as much weight on the front end.
I was pleased w/ the wear considering they were mud tires. Traction was great offroading, rocks and mud. Not so hot on snow though. BFG AT's were better on snow.

That suprises me that there not so great in the snow. I would think big lugs would be better for snow. I'm planning on ordering my tires by the end of the week so anymore feedback would be great!!

I ran them on a '68 Bronco that I built a while back, I had no complaints with them, but they never saw snow! they were a little loud, but I liked it on the Bronco :)
I'm running the M/T Xtreme's on my HD.

the XAT lack alot of sips (small cuts in the tread to ad bit)...... thus mean they suck/do poorly in wet and snow/ice conditions
better than a prue MT but worse then a pure AT and worse than a pure snow tire
i am currently runng them and will most likely see snow when i drive home this winter:cool:

I actually tried getting a set of these, but between my dumbass getting a set of 18" x 9.5" offset rims, wanting them in 285 x 75, and load range D or E... I couldn't find a set. Even had 2 different shops looking for me. Finally settled on the Cooper Discoverer STT, looks nasty, rooster tails like crazy, loud, wears well considering how often I burn out, and cost $255 a pop :(

I have them on my truck, They have a good 30K miles on them with about 5-7K miles left in them. My buddy put the toyo mud country's on at the same time and my Pro Comps have worn better. We both use the same maintenance schedule for rotation. I also tow about 7K heavier than he does when we tow (only every now and them when the military moves us). I wish it were available in a load range E in my size, that is my only complaint. I can't comment on noise, is there a mud tire that ins't noisy?

Yep, but it'll cost ya. The new BFG Mud-Terrain KM2's are REAL quiet on the road. Also Goodyear MT/R's are super-quiet on the road. Both of those are really expensive, though.
