Took my 04 duramax w/allision to a shop to install a transgo and new torque converter, they said no problem, and I would get it back at the end of the day. Well that will be two weeks on wednesday. The shop ended up not being able to handle it and sublet it out to a tranny shop in the inland empire, and said I would have it back on friday, well the tranny got picked up on friday and dropped off friday night back to the shop, so it was delayed again.... When I called the shop (because they don't call me) friday night they said it would be monday night. Called monday and they imformed me that there tranny jack broke and it would be alittle longer, they said they would drop it off at my parents house. So wednesday I call from new jersey and ask if is done, and of course it is not still no replcement for there tranny jack, and they will finish it today (Monday the 29th), because of the holiday. So the tranny shop charged $1800.00 for there work and the first shop charged me 1400.00 for what I don't know yet. These guy's are friends of my dad's, what would you do?Censored

I would pay the $1800, and tell the other shop to stick that $1400 bill up their a$$. They shouldn't have told you that they could handle it when they couldn't.

Sounds like it. Does the 1800 include the parts? If not, that really seems like a lot of money. Should of put a call in to Mike L in LA area as it looks like your in SoCal. I guess I need to raise my prices if 1800 is the going rate...

When these clowns are all done with your truck, schedule a "lunch" trip to see Mike L.

Have him drive/evaluate it on your way to "buy him" lunch, just to be sure it is acting like a Transgo/converter install should. ;)
