Coming home from traveling this weekend, and I noticed going up a long hill with cruise on at 65mph, about 3/4 up the hill, my truck started blowing white smoke really bad. The engine also had a strange knocking sound to it. (even strange for a diesel). As soon as I let off the accelerator, it stopped. Truck seemed to run fine, until I came to the next long hill, and it did the same thing. From that point on I kept my speed between 55 and 60 all the way home. Once I was home I took it to the dealership, and they told me that they could not replicate the problem  . They told me it could have been a stuck injector, that cleared itself.?? Well I don't buy it. I attempted to duplicate the problem myself, after I left the dealership, and I wasn't able to. However, there are no long rolling hills in the Fort Worth Area, like there was in East Texas when the problem occured. My wife followed me home, and she told me that when I would accellerate real hard she would see a small puff of white smoke, but nothing like it was doing on my trip. (This might even be normal, I am not sure). Also, when I got home, I was a quart 1/2 low of oil. In fact when I first checked my oil, there was barely enough oil to register on the dipstick. Lastly when I checked my oil yesterday, and every time I have changed my oil at 5000 miles I noticed the oil was really black. Is this normal?
Sorry about the long post, but any advice would be appreciated.
