:eek: My 01 DMAX is runnining a 4" Banks, SC 3, 1057,And Hot Juice. I am not concerned so much with the black smoke as i am about the 1600 F. + egt,s. i am seeing. Dont want water/meth or bigger Turbo, any suggestions? PLEASE no heavy foot jokes, i realy dont want to hurt my engine, if there are other proven EGT REDUCERS out there. Thanks Guys.:)

Other then that i would seriously look at Water/Meth from all the how to's i've seen in magazines for the installs they really don't look that hard and really work well at reducing temps.

dmaxlover 10-07-2007, 11:20 AM Put in a boost valve if you don't already have one. 1600 degrees isn't bad if you only have it there for a very short time. If towing try not to run hotter that 1200-1300 degrees for a prolong period of time.

Are you towing or hauling heavy? My home made boost control helped my EGTs with the 85hp Predator.

How about better tuning.. nothing else is really going to drastically drop your EGT's. What driving conditions are you seeing these temperatures under???

You need more air, or less fuel.
Either dial down the tuning, or get a bigger turbo. There is no other way:)
ARbowhunter7 10-07-2007, 10:45 PM Might try a downpipe on your exhaust. You've still got that stock bottleneck coming off your turbo, and that Edge is NOTORIOUS for high EGT's. I've got a downpipe on my Banks exhaust and it helped a TON. I never see high EGT's .
Ditch the hot juice and go with a ppe tuner.
ARbowhunter7 QUESTION. What make turbo down pipe did you install , and did you have to modify the Banks 4'' Monster exhaust to make it fit?Thanks MIKE.
