Anyone have any feedback on Nitto Terra Grappler 285/70/17 E. Looking for new tires for H2 wheels. How do they wear and how are they in mud, snow , etc. Thanks

I've been through two sets of the 8 ply 285's and they wore out pretty fast. I decided to give them another try in the 10 ply, and they are holding up real well. I always liked the way Terra Grapplers run both empty, and towing.

I just had my tires and lift put on two days ago and could not be happier!!! The Pro Comp lift and Nitto tire combo ride soooooo much better than the tight over-sprung feel of the stock set-up. The Terra Grapplers are quiet and ride very well, how they last and wear... we will see.:)

Very soft tires and they wear quickly. Not worth the money IMO..

i have had them on my truck for almost a year now and they have lasted me fine. i have put about 40k on them and they still have about 1/2 of the tread left

My tires are doing very well and am very happy with them so far. They are wearing evenly and not any faster than tires i've had in the past. I will probably buy these again when needed! As far as snow and mud, I dont go in either so i cant answer for those specs.

0If you tow a lot then plan on replacing them soon. Half of the life of my truck is with a trailer behind it. 18k is all that the Nitto's lasted for me.

I like the tires, but they seem very soft and wear fast. The ride and cornering are good.... hmm..my wife says I drive it like a go cart, maybe thats why they wear so fast...

The last I looked they were the #1 rated All-Terrain tire on Consumer Reports even with the worst rolling resistance. I think they are nearly identical to Toyo A/T's but have a softer tread compound which is why they wear faster.

I've had the 295/70/17's for 18 months and have over 25k miles on them. They are great tires and I'd buy them again. Next to no road noise on pavement, concrete its a little louder (but what isnt). Hook-up in sand is great! Probably 60% tread left. They arent very flashy, and dont hold a shine well. They are modestly aggressive, but dont stand out much at all.

Don't the Nitto TGs come in different plys? Could this be the reason some people say they wear fast and some people say they last forever?

I would say yes; I just bought a set of 10 ply 285/65/18 and I pull a 5ver frequently down ruff lease roads. Time will only tell how long they last but, I will definately put them to the test!

Counld not ask for anymore with these tires, I would buy them again!!! Snow is good, rain is good, not sure about mud, have never seen it. I have around 18K on mine and at least 50% of the tread is left. I tow every weekend from April to Niovember and am very happy with the tires!!

As far as holding a shine, use the correct product and it will not be a problem.

I actually think the Nitto TGs and the BFG ATs are the two best looking all terrain tires on the market!
