Question 1:
I have a 2004 LB7 DMAX. If the CAT is remove and straight pipe and muffler installed, will EGR codes appear or cause problems?
Question 2:
Has anyone developed a EGR plug-in defeat circuit that works?
I read posting awhile back, but seen no results.
Anyone have an update on this subject?
Thanks in advance,
SSDMAX

No codes on Straight Pipe and Muffler.:ro)
Sorry SSDMAX. I took it upon myself to do the finger stick (EGR Defeat circuit) for the LB7's and just haven't had the time to actually do it! Hopefully soon.

Someone on here is working on a defeat circuit, they have the electrical schematic all written up and everything, I just don't know their progress this far. Do a search on this site and see what comes up.

Terrain Twister,
Thank you for the quick response. If a straight exhaust system does not cause problems with the EGR circuit, then what does cause problems that the EGR circuit needs to be unpluged or defeated?

As you probably know, EGR stands for 'Exhaust Gas Recirculation'. This means that any 'Soot' you may produce is also thrown back into the intake cycle.:( The circuit I hope too soon be putting together (courtesy of Fingers) along with a block off plate, doesn't allow this to happen.:)

My truck will not throw an MIL unless I am towing. I think it is because of the higher boost that is produced and backpressrure comparison by the ECM. It has never tossed a message not towing. If you tow heavy I think that you can expect to see an MIL light at some point. Has never lost power when the light comes on. ;)

I currently don't throw any codes even when towing.
As soon as I can I'll start a post about the LB7 finger stick being done and testing underway.
