Mine starts to build boost around 1900-2000rpms. Is this consistent with what you guys are seeing?

I don't have a gauge, but I can feel boost building around 1500, probably depend on mods whether its the same on all..i.e. exhaust and backpressure..

the turbo on mine starts to really whistle about 2150

1000rpm 4.4lbs. of boost in or out of gear. In gear at 1700rpm 7lbs. of boost.

what could I have wrong with mine that is dosent really start to build boost until 1900-2000rpms?? this could explain why my truck seems slow off the line.

I get my J/A on my 05 and I'll see what she does.

I know I got over 8 psi @ 3000 rpm in neutral.

BTW are u checking in gear or neutral?

Try holding the brake and build boost by stepping on the accelerator. You should have plenty of boost by 1700rpm. Any more rpm and it should spin the rear tires with the brakes still applied.

No I decided against it..

Its hard for me to tell without a boost gauge but I feel it at around 2000 rpm
but I know it must be building before that.

almost disappointing... i can feel it build power at higher rpms but not as sudden as my friends 01 dodge 2500 cummins. once that thing hits 2000rpms exactly, it takes of like the frickin' bat mobile.


i'm sure i'm making more power than him but that sudden surge of power is cool

oh.. this truck has now where near the kick my cummins had.. but it rides and drive 100% better.
