Typically the Speedometer goes first, but the stepper motors are all the same. Also, search "speedometer" for more info. Bobcat2002 10-06-2007, 11:57 AM On my 95 3500HD the tach went out and it was the alternator bad. I guess the pickup for the tach is in the alternator. I had it checked at autozone and they told me the alternator was good but chevy dealer checked it and said it was bad. Anyone receive one? I am interested in having the stealer repair my tach and speedometer as the stepper motors are bad. If there is a recall then we can get it fixed for free. Requires overnight stay while the factory imprints your mileage into the new cluster and then overnights it back to the stealer. Hopefully it is not the same stepper motor setup or it will just be a matter of time...Jim | ||
