Brother Law is he)) bent on the Dodge, says they want too much money for the Dmax.

Dealers he has visited say the Big Trans has solved their trans probs?
Ques is; Are they talking abt the 48RE? Or is something else out he dosen't know abt?

He has had his 95 Dodge 1ton since new which hauls gooseneck with hefty const equip for job & race car trailer.

Also what can I tell him abt the hi speed vibration mentioned in the other thread & what is causing this?

Thanx, Gben

The Dodges I priced "Laramie" were all the same price as the Chevies/GMC. 46k MSRP on average. The same truck in GMC with similar features cost/MSRP the same. Some Dodges worked out higher.

I would have him read that link below for details on Dodge 70 MPH deal. You could also search transmission info.

renegade,
Thanx for the link, didn't yet read it all but very interesting. He dosen't do inet yet & I've passed as much as I could on to him via phone this pm.

He says the dealer in Palatka, Beck Dodge has beat GM & Ford one of which over $4k with almost same options. But says he may not take it since turned out tobe 4.10 ratio. Said he didn't get any vib out on the 4lane upto 75mph. Oh yes he don't like the small back seat.

Mwestduelly,
Thanx for the tip & I've passed this on to him.
He's heard all these stories like everyone else abt Ford 6.0 probs, GM injector probs, & also Dodge trans probs but it's all of them. They all seem to have a prob of one kind or another & usually it's the ones with probs we hear abt & rightfully so. We've had 0 probs with our 02 Dmax to 50k mi but I'll surely not be in the hush mode if I have to shell out lotsa $$$ if GM dosen't stand by me.
My gut feeling is that since his 95 has been good to him he will most likely buy anither Dodge although he has rode in the back seat of our Dmax with the Race Car trailer behind & boasted abt, What a Truck.
Don't know abt ya'll but I'm a little quiet this day& time abt saying you should buy this or that if you know what I mean.

Thanx Guys, Gben

It is shakey anymore recommending any particular truck. You never know what you might talk somebody into.

They all offer certain things that might be most important to each of us. Durability and dependability stand out for all of us naturally so if one particular brand had all the "things" we like most we hope it's also the most durable and dependable of them all. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way in the real world.

My choice this time was based on a bunch of things with the smaller back seat not being a driver in the decision. I don't sit back there and anyone that does usually is impressed unless they are my daughter who remembers the GMC. They don't miss something they didn't have.

Renegade, I got to reading pretty heavy about the vibration deal......I defintely have that problem!!! For whatever reason I couldn't set-up an id for that site, so I couldn't post a reply. Do you know if there are any updates to this problem?? TSB out yet?? If the aluminum driveshafts are a fix?? Appreciate any help.
