I have an 07 classic with electric adjustable captains seats. When i'm driving on bumpy roads the front back of the seats rattle like crazy. I'm talking about when knowone is sitting in the pass sedat or not sitting against the back part.
I know there has to be some free play in the mechanism, but there is about a 1/2" in the backs of both front seats.
Yeah the truck is lifted but atleast it has bilsteins and rides smoother then stock!
Could this be a warranty thing or should I just learn to live with it?

My drivers side seat squeeks pretty bad. It sounds like an old creaking rocking chair going down the road. It's annoying to say the least. I plan on taking it back to the dealer soon for it's 1'st oil change, so hopefully they'll fix it then.

My passenger seat is the same way. I haven't taken it in yet. I am sure that will be a fun trip to the dealer.

I have an '06 with the exact same problem on the passenger side.. The dealer has replaced the brackets 5 times in this last year... The dealer says they can only keep replacing them and there is NO fix for the problem. I have called the 800 customer service # and they deem it within the companies tolerances and that they will not replace the seat... WTF.... Anyways its the brackets that hold the seat-back to the azz part, they get worn and loose their structure.... (So Im told)
Good luck with the problem, tell the dealer to replace the brackets and that u will be back in a few months when they go out again...
IT IS A WARRANTY THING...

What gets me is my passenger seat squeaking and popping when someone sits in it. The driver's seat is silent and it gets used 98% more than the passenger seat. Looks like it's time to find a DIY fix for it.

Hey thanks for all the input. That is what I thought, "It's in tolerance"! When I had the Dodge Mega Cab, it had electric seats but the backs were mechanical levers! It didn't rattle atleast. It is very annoying and they rattle so bad I can't even hold the passenger side with my right hand.
It's ok when someone is sitting in the passenger seat.

Seats suck. The only cure I have foung for most of the noise is to keep the passenger seat reclined back all the way. This seems to take up the play and stops most of the noise. Have had the truck to dealer half dozen times call customer care. GM doesnt give a crap about it. This is considered normal. Try keeping the seatbelt across the seat buckled. Last time I checked that isn't normal.
Really the only real solution that I think might be feasible is if everyone with the problem who has gotten no help from GM call up the BBB and complain. Maybe with enough of the same complaint it might help. I love my truck and am happy with the purchase but aside from the noise how can I be sure in an accident that seat isnt going to come apart?

Hey JB that sounds good. We all should band together and get a class action lawsuit, then maybe thay (GM) would give a rats! I had some problems afew years back with GM customer service and they always say it's normal, or within spec. I really don't want to waste my time at the dealer unless somehow we all could change things. Otherwise I like the truck.
