Anybody have info on breaking the TCM code:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Few of us 8100 vortec users need to start changing the shift points for mods. Currently the cam in my 8.1 starts pulling nice around 3300 rpm and does not stop pulling until past 5200rpm . Need to change points up to 5000 rpms. The stock 4500rpm point sucks and on the 1-2 shift tends to dip below the nice part of the powerband. And not to mention 3-4 shift.

Much thanks for the help!!!!:ro)

The Ally might get a little dangerous at that rpm in overdrive. I don't think I would give it a steady diet of that.

Mike L,
How about using those 8100 shift points on the Allison? Isn't that where Mtomac likes to turn his Dmax?

Thanks for the input. much thanks.

First, not looking to high speed runs in overdrive. With 4.56s should be able pull though the lights in 4th gear on the 1/4 mile. Pullling will be in 4lo run to about 3 gear if I can pull it.

Requested some info for ATS on this, Maybe see what they think. I really don't what to swap out transmissions. I knew I should got the 6-speed. oh well

Also have been reading past posts, Frankly does not sit to well with me. Good Thing that the AV 2500 get a 4l85e, should be a direct swap. built 4l80e to the rescue.

Looks like the low rpm allison coming out next fall. I have it for sale about late fall of next year. So keep an eye out for it.

Well if the allison trans can not handle 6000 +++ rpms of a big block gasser, then why should I keep it. From the past post's I have read Allison has a rated input rpm of 4500 to 5000 rpm max.

Just need some info
Thanks, keep the info coming.
