This is probably gonna get moved to somewhere, but not quite sure where this would really go, so I'll post it here.
Are there any of you guys that tint windows that use the 3M CS stuff?
I'm wanting to do my windshield w/ 50% but I don't want to use a metallic film due to my GPS. So I'm off trying to find a non-metallic film that won't purple over time. I see the 3M CS stuff is guaranteed not to purple over time. What's your all's experience w/ this stuff?
I have yet to find a 3M dealer here, and I'm really just wanting to purchase enough film to do the windshield. If any of you are a 3M dealer, would you be willing to sell me enough film for the windshield? Thanks!

Window tinter here.... i would highly recomend taking your truck to a shop to tint your windshield. I am saying this because it will be worth your time and money. This is because i have been tinting for 3 years and it took me a year and a few months to tune my skills to be able to tint the front windshild clean with out any contamination, which is highly important because it is the window you look out of the majority of the time your driving. PM if you might have any questions that might help you

My buddy doing it owns one of the bigger shops around here... he does all my vehicles for basically the cost of the film. BUT he only carries metallic film, and he doesn't use 3M stuff. He said all the other non-metallic film is crap and will purple within a few years.
That's why I'm trying to get enough for just the windshield. Don't suppose you carry the 3M CS stuff do you?

Try the LLumar film, If you arent a smoker, it doesnt purple for quite some time (5+ years) I agree that if you arent experienced with laying film that you take it to a pro shop, 50% is kinda stiff/brittle in comparison to the darker stuff, and if you dont know what you are doing is kind of a pain to lay on the windshield.
If you are a smoker, only the metallic film wont purple. Actually the metallic film wont ever purple, but its, well, metallic, and in my opinion looks crappy on a vehicle. And contrary to any warranty, all dyed film will eventually purple, if you are a smoker, much faster. If you garage the vehicle, and arent a smoker it can last a very long time. I filmed my 89 firebird with llumar 20% film 10 yrs ago, and it still looks like the day it was layed. My parents have a crv that was filmed 3 years ago, and it looks 70's purple. It sits outside and they are smokers.

Huber Optik film is the best on the market hands down (IMO). That is all that I will put on my windows these days. It is a hard ceramic film that resist scratches and cleans easily.. I also have this film on the windows at my house because of its heat resistance and cooling abilities which follows for their auto film as well. Almost always at least 20 degrees cooler in my truck when it is 90+ outside...
Side note: this stuff is very expensive and time consuming to install.
