with tie rod sleeves do they eliminate the jam nut or use both?

Otherwise the threads could wear prematurely.;) B-rad 10-03-2007, 11:26 PM they have a spot where you can put a 1" wrench. and i could not get them to thread on all the way. i needed 32 turns and could only get 25 and they hit the shoulder up near where the tie rod connects to the steering stuff. thats why i was wondering if the jam nut was needed. The only way I could figure out how to turn the inner tie rod was to lock the sleeve against the jam nut.
