I bought a 04.5 LLY 4x4 I bought a Edge with the monitor but I would like to do a exhaust upgrade and thought about stacking programmers but not sure what direction to go in. Any assitance or advice would be great

there is a million options for exhaust ( it seems anyways) and IMO if your going anything more then an Edge box, start thinking trans before you start thinking any more power. The Edge will hurt the trans quicker on an LLY then an LB7 as the trans has not changed its ability to handle more power, but the LLY is stronger then the LB7..

First, welcome to the forum. Second, you've asked a really loaded question and the answers depend a lot on what you want to do with your truck and how much you want to spend.

Next, you ought to ask one of the mods to move this to the power/performance section and I think you'll get more input in a faster manner.

Now I'll give you my first suggestion and that's an exhaust upgrade, but that involves deciding on which brand and whether or not you choose to keep the CAT on your truck. My truck got some high EGT's with the Edge and stock exhaust so that was next on my list. But your LLY has a CAT on it and removing it can cause a few headaches depending on what you're willing to put up with and where you live, so some folks remove them, others like me leave them on. So as you can see, there are lots more questions to ask and answer before you'll get some more definitive advice...

I have been driving stock Chevrolet trucks for years with virtually zero problems. My recommendation is to leave it alone. With all the electronics and other gadgetry on vehicles today, one change has a domino effect effecting other functions down the line. Maybe I'm just getting to being an old fud but all I want from my truck is 99.999 percent reliability and performance equal to it's design specs.

Iam with you aka108 ived owned chevy trucks and cars, suv's all my life and never had a problem, once you start modding its puts stress on other parts, dont you think if chevy wanted this motor to put out another 100 hp and 200 fp of torgue they would have, like i said before people putting on all these mods kinda makes me wonder why there having so much problems out of there motor. Also putting all these mods on the truck puts the warrenty at stake, I bought my truck for one thing that is to work, it has plenty of power to do just about any job and when I read about people having problems with there mods and engine problems they a toll on the truck, I just sit back and laugh and shake my head. You will be sorry in the long run, but this is just my opinion.

I have an 05 2500HD LLY. I added a Pro Flo muffler, left the cat on...And the Predator programmer with the 65 hp setting...This programmer has 4 hp settings to choose from.Made a huge difference. Very pleased.
