How do we engage the high idle? Is there some special trick like floor the pedal then brake or something along those lines? Also does anyone make A-pillar replacement guages for the bose sound system with the tweeter up there. I had the edge installed but had too many problems so I unhooked it and sold it. Now running the Hypertech and very satisfied but still have the EGT sensor plugged in with nothing to hook to it.

Since you have an LLY, you can access this info through the Driver Information Center (DIC). It is called "Elevated Idle" and you can select "On" or "Off." Kennedy's website explains it in full detail:
http://www.kennedydiesel.com/docs/Fast_Idle_Description_LLY_Duramax.htm
As for manually controlling the high idle function at any temperature, you can do a relatively easy mod as explained here: http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17853
If you need the pins discussed in Max Power's above article, I can supply them. Refer to this thread: http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17916
I hope this helps... your manual explains the cold weather elevated idle as well.

You can also turn it on and off with the steering wheel controls, if you have them.

That would be the DIC, as I mentioned.

Well I do have the steering wheel controls but it dosent engage it at all. I'm in southern Louisiana and I know it dosent get "cold" here but 35 or 40 degrees feels cold from the himidity. I did grow up in upstate New York so I'm well aware of what cold is. I appreatiate the help gentlemen.

It probably hasn't been cold enough yet. It has to be below freezing and the motor has to be cold as well.

The answer to your other question is yes there is an overlay available with the tweeter cutout in it. . . There are a number of vendors that sell them. I got mine from Mark Craig. . Shoot him a PM, he'll hook you up.
