Here's the deal. This past summer I decided to head over to the local drag strip and see what my truck could do. I was never into the dragging scene but after one run I was hooked.

Two weeks later, I went back and had a few close friends come by and check out the drags. I was killing every car and truck there. I still remember people laughing when I got to the staging line with my Diesel. Let me tell you, I shut them up pretty quick. High performance diesels is a market that hasn't opened up here yet. Anyway after the night was done we headed out to dinner and two of my friends had an idea. One owns a very succsessful garage and the other does high performance transmissions. Long story short, the guy with the garage is about to become a dealer for Edge and a host of other manufactures and wants my truck to be used as advertising. Then other guy is willing to do the tranny. All I gotta do is be at the track two days a week in the summer and put their shop logo on the side windows of the ext-cab doors. Sweet deal huh? What should I add to the truck? I'm preparing a list. What can you guys suggest?

So far gears, 35 BFG AT's for dragging, lift pump, something to stack with the J/A, propane or NOS, dual exhaust.... What else?

I would get a Suncoast Stage 5 transmission, full TTS extreme setup, 5" exhaust system and whatever else they will be willing to throw in. Good luck on your venture and just make sure you look before you leap...

It's a dream come true to me. I do know that I'm lucky but these two other guys will certainly benefit as well. Like I said, up around this area not many people know what their diesels can do with a little box or programmer. After a few passes at the track I had all sorts of people asking how a diesel truck could beat Mustangs, Camaros and yes even an '04 Lightning. Many of them towed their toys to the track and asked me if I knew what was available for their rigs. It was a cool feeling but I am no expert. Just look at my sig, I haven't done much compared to the rest of you guys.

Eric: Yeah, the tranny guy will be taking care of everything. He just came back from Toronto 2 weeks ago for some Transmission seminar and inquired about the necessary parts to beef the Allison. I can't recall the names of the company's right now, but I'll get back to you with them tomorrow. Nick

Thanks Eric! I appreciate the offer and I'm sure you'll be getting a call. He has done all sorts of truck trannys but never an Allison. He's been in business for a long time and his dad also owns a tranny shop in Calgary. I know for a fact that he can't wait to tear into my tranny. Thanks again. Nick
